Day trips

On Foot
The village of Calceranica with its church to St. Ermete – a jewel built on the ruins of an ancient temple to the goddess Diana is easily reached on foot. The mine and its museum, and the upper church which towers over the village offering beautiful views are also worth visiting.

By Train
Trains can be taken directly to the provincial capital, Trento, with its interesting museums and beautiful town centre. Or visit Borgo Valsugana where Wednesday is market day. Bassano is famous for its Grappa, and there are even direct trains to the architectural jewel that is Venice - easily reachable as a day trip.

By Car
By car you could visit the lovely valle dei Mocheni where a German speaking minority speak a form of the language dating back to the middle ages. The village Lusern is another linguistic island where they still speak an old high German dialect. In Lavarone there is the fortress Belvedere /Gschwent whose museum offers a glimpse into the history of the First World War. A further worthwhile trip is to  Segonzano and its earth pyramids, special geological formations which have developed through soil erosion. Slightly further afield, in the Brenta Dolomites, is the  Val di Genova with some beautiful hiking and the Nardis waterfall, the highest in Trentino.
Lake Tovel is worth a visit if only for its emerald water and position, surrounded by the Brenta massif. Not far away is the pilgrimage church, San Romedio  with its unique location and architecture.

These are just a few of the many possible trips in our local area. Of course, once you have arrived you can ask for further information at the reception.
