Lake Caldonazzo provides perfect conditions for learning this wonderful sport. The water surface is not too large, and the wind is usually not too strong. The prevailing wind is the Vigolana, a thermal wind which rises almost daily at around 3 in the afternoon and allows surfing with very large sails. The Levegana usually blows when thunderstorms are building in the distance. It doesn't last long, but is great fun with its strong gusting winds. Finally there is the Tramontana, also known as the St. Cristofer, it blows from the North and causes waves and strong gusts.
